So just as a get things out there, and on the nature of names, labels, knicknames etc etc, i thought id put out the origin story of why im called Whitenoise,
So for starters, im a Larper, live action roleplay for those that dont know of it google is a wonderful thing, my particular story is related to the events run by Curious Pastimes,
So for some years i was playing a character in one of the larger factions that roam this fantasy world and i dont know why but at events i tend to find talking to people alot easier, maybe its the closed environment or the limited pool of people present all in a common hobby, or hell maybe its the fact im playing someone else not me,
still i have a knack for getting to know people, and getting info, and contacts and stuff, even when it should be possible, hey im an out and out follower of a dark god, your a beacon of light and justice and yet we are drinking having a laugh like old pals, infact we are,
So one event the person in charge of my faction made a mistake, he asked me for everything i knew, leave nothing out, he eventually paled in shock at how much shit id extracted even from people we were one step short of open war from,
later on said person (one of the refs) referred to me as Whitenoise, little bit later (okay i was VERY drunk but hey who cares it was 3,30am) another camp got a radio call that Whitenoise was incoming, it turned out this callsign or knickname or whatever had been going around and i was totally unaware until now, and it was something of a slur based on the fact that i could verbally wall of text people,
So what did i do, i started introducing myself to people as Whitenoise, i even got myself a tshirt that on the front says I AM WHITENOISE and on the back has a rip of the plinth quote from ozymandias ' behold my works ye mighty and despair' (though these days my hair now covers that mostly,
but at that point it stopped being a slur and just became my name, why because rather than get upset over being called Whitenoise, i took posession of it and made it my own
